Two labs. One outbreak. And a lot of people who suddenly feel very unwell. In Episode 2 of the National STEM Championship (NSTEMC) 2026, the remaining teams leave the stage and head into the field. They step inside Health Sciences Authority/ Thermo Fisher Scientific, where precise measurement keeps healthcare testing trustworthy, and into the labs at Ngee Ann Polytechnic. There, the teams become a health investigation unit, running real lab tests to work out what made over 200 campers sick. The obvious suspect might not be the right one.
