Siti Hasmah, wife of former Malaysian PM Mahathir, dies aged 100

Dr Siti Hasmah Mohamad Ali, the wife of former Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad, died this morning at the age of 100. Hundreds showed up to pay their last respects at the family home, including royalty and dignitaries. Dr Siti Hasmah was accorded a state funeral and buried in Putrajaya at about 6.30pm. She leaves behind her husband, seven children, 18 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Dr Siti Hasmah was a pioneering Malaysian doctor and public health advocate whose career spanned several decades, making her a popular figure in her own right. Melissa Goh reports.
