Description
From struggling to speak and write to regaining his everyday abilities.
A patient from Godda, Jharkhand, was diagnosed with a brain tumour after his speech and right-hand strength gradually deteriorated. Concerned about undergoing surgery under general anaesthesia, he was initially hesitant to proceed.
He was later evaluated by Dr. Vikram Singh, who explained the option of awake brain tumour surgery, where the patient can remain responsive during the procedure to help monitor important neurological functions.
After a nearly six-hour surgery, the patient was able to respond soon after the procedure. He was discharged four days later and has since resumed exercises, writing and signing his name.
A journey of courage, specialised care and recovery.
