'Congress Should Respect Parliament': Amruta Fadnavis On Vande Mataram Row

Amruta Fadnavis joins NDTV to discuss the ongoing Vande Mataram controversy, with the Congress arguing that it should be free to sing the version historically associated with Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru. Fadnavis says the Congress should respect Parliament and argues that the full song is an important part of India's patriotic history. She questions why there is an objection to singing the additional stanzas, recalls hearing Vande Mataram as a child and speaks about the song's role in India's freedom struggle. Fadnavis also responds to the suggestion of using AR Rahman's popular version, saying India should first preserve and celebrate the original. #AmrutaFadnavis #VandeMataram #Congress #BJP #NationalSong #Patriotism #Nationalism #IndiaPolitics #PoliticalDebate #FreedomStruggle #ARRahman $MetaTags$1#TV Original2#The Buck Stops Here3#Padmaja Joshi4#Susobhan Roy5#Faisal Kidwai$MetaTags$ About NDTV (English news channel): NDTV is India's Most-Trusted News Broadcaster with the latest updates in news, sports, entertainment and much more from within India and around the world.
