She can make RARE pastas from Sardinia! #pasta
Pasta Grannies ·
Description
This is Maria Antonietta (@mariaantoniettamazzone on Instagram) making gravellus, a rare, handcrafted pasta from central Sardinia that is prized as much for its artistic appearance as for its flavor. Unlike better-known Sardinian pastas such as Malloreddus or Culurgiones, gravellus is traditionally made for special occasions and village celebrations rather than everyday meals. The name "gravellus" comes from the Sardinian word for the wild carnation (garofano selvatico). The pasta is shaped to resemble this flower, with delicate folded petals that open during cooking.
