Envirocatalysts Founder Sunil Dahiya On Air Crisis: 'Green Crackers Are Definitely Not A Solution'

In an interview discussing post-Diwali air pollution and PM2.5 levels, Sunil Dahiya, founder and lead analyst at Envirocatalysts, explained how firecrackers significantly worsen air quality in Delhi-NCR. Dahiya noted that when low wind speeds coincide with firecracker bursting, particulate levels spike drastically. He observed that while firecracker emissions linger for eight to ten hours before dissipating, their combination with existing pollution creates a hazardous cocktail that elevates respiratory risks and asthma cases. Rejecting alternatives like green crackers, Dahiya stated, 'Green crackers are definitely not a solution because these green crackers also, when they are burnt, they release certain amount of pollutants, and if the number of green crackers being burnt goes very high, the overall pollution is the same.' He also pointed out that bursting firecrackers was never part of traditional festive culture and stressed celebrating without causing toxic pollution. #DelhiPollution #AirPollution #PollutionControl #itwebvideos #SunilDahiya #Envirocatalysts #AQI #DelhiSmog #PM2Point5 #DiwaliPollution #Firecrackers #GreenCrackers #AirQuality #DelhiNCR #Environment #HealthEmergency Subscribe to India Today for NEW VIDEOS EVERY DAY and make sure to enable Push Notifications so you'll never miss a new video.
