Why Israeli Gen Z voters are drawn to the far right | BBC News

BBC News · · 1,398 views

Description

Israel's election is taking place next Tuesday, to elect a new government, in the first election since the 7 October Hamas attacks three years ago. More than half a million first-time voters are among those due to cast their ballots. The vote is seen by many voters as an existential decision on the country’s future identity and security. Surveys suggest that around three quarters of new voters see themselves as “right or centre right” – and that Israel’s far-right parties are among those benefitting. The BBC's Middle East Correspondent Lucy Williamson has been speaking with Gen Z voters in Israel.
