Noah Musingku: Conman who ran ponzi scheme and militia dies in his 'kingdom' | The World | ABC News

One of the South Pacific's most infamous con men, Noah Musingku, has died in his self-declared kingdom in the south of Bougainville in Papua New Guinea. Musingku fleeced millions of dollars from people in PNG, the Solomon Islands, Fiji, Australia and elsewhere from the late 1990s through his Ponzi scheme U-Vistract, before fleeing authorities to his home town of Tonu where he declared himself King Peii II of Papaala. Pacific Affairs reporter Liam Fox spoke to The World's Girish Sawlani about the mystery surrounding his death and why the law never caught up with him. #ABCTheWorld #ABCAsiaPacific Subscribe: http://ab.co/1svxLVE Read more here: https://www.abc.net.au/news/2026-10-20/con-man-noah-musingku-dies-bougainville-ponzi-scheme/107283884 Note: In most cases, our captions are auto-generated. #ABCNEWS #ABCNEWSAustralia
