Exclusive: Arjun Ram Meghwal Says 'Delimitation Will Happen', Sates It A Constitutional Obligation

In an interview with India Today, Union Minister of Law and Justice Arjun Ram Meghwal stated that the government remains committed to implementing delimitation, noting that "delimitation will happen" as "it is a constitutional obligation." Meghwal addressed opposition concerns regarding seat reallocation and political numbers following the introduction of the bill in the Lok Sabha. He explained the government's proposed formula, stating that existing seats would increase by fifty percent and that the newly added seats would be reserved for women under the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam, bringing total Lok Sabha seats to 815 across states. Responding to objections raised by leaders like Jairam Ramesh and southern regional parties such as the DMK regarding unequal regional representation, Meghwal maintained that the uniform fifty percent increase ensures no state faces a seat loss, dismissing claims that southern states would be disadvantaged. #ArjunRamMeghwal #Delimitation #DelimitationBill #itwebvideos #LokSabha #Parliament #IndianPolitics #IndiaToday #LawMinister #WomensReservation #NariShaktiVandan #ConstitutionOfIndia #ElectionsIndia #PoliticalNews #IndiaNews #ElectoralReforms Subscribe to India Today for NEW VIDEOS EVERY DAY and make sure to enable Push Notifications so you'll never miss a new video.
