Indus Waters Treaty: Vinai Kumar Saxena Details Ladakh’s Water Plan | India Today Conclave Mumbai

Ladakh Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena has outlined the Union Territory’s water management strategy following the abeyance of the Indus Waters Treaty. He said Ladakh generates nearly 360 trillion litres of river water annually but was utilising only 1.85% before March 2026. According to Saxena, steps taken to improve water utilisation include diverting approximately 5,000 million litres through canals, dams and ponds, raising utilisation to 2.35%. He said the administration aims to increase this figure to 10% within the next two years, highlighting efforts to improve water storage, diversion and local resource management. #Ladakh #SolarEnergy #RenewableEnergy #viral #Leh #IndiaTodayConclaveMumbai26 #VinaiKumarSaxena #GreenEnergy #SolarPower #SustainableDevelopment #IndiaToday Subscribe to India Today for NEW VIDEOS EVERY DAY and make sure to enable Push Notifications so you'll never miss a new video.
