Malaysia, Myanmar agree to strengthen bilateral ties, says Anwar

Malaysia and Myanmar have agreed to strengthen bilateral ties through cooperation in trade, investment, education, agri-food, energy, healthcare and capacity building. Speaking at a joint press conference on Thursday (Oct 8), Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim also said Malaysia had raised concerns over democratic reforms while welcoming Myanmar’s commitment to engage with all parties to prevent further escalation of violence.
