CineNow is a film tech platform designed to marry finance capital with technology and provides the funding mechanism for the film industry. But it’s not just a film fund or a financier, it's designed to be a complete ecosystem sustainable beyond a typical film's life cycle. At CineNow, everyone from established producers to independent filmmakers can seek financing from this platform. For the first phase, CineNow is going ahead with an investment of up to Rs 500 crore and its initial backers fall into three institutional categories: venture capitalists, hedge funds and family offices. When a filmmaker submits his script(s) on CineNow’s portal, it first enters the reading room where best of the best scripts are shortlisted, manually. Rejected scripts are re-scanned through an AI portal to ensure viable, commercially strong projects are not accidentally overlooked during manual reviews. During this process, filmmakers’ names are not mentioned to avoid bias. It’s only at the investment table, the names are pulled out. The decision-making to provide funds to a script depends 60 per cent on the creativity or the quality of the script, 20 per cent in the commercial and the remaining is the pedigree or the past record of the filmmaker. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Exclusive content, special privileges & more – Subscribe to ThePrint for Special benefits: https://tinyurl.com/4ymm9wh5 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Connect with ThePrint » Subscribe to ThePrint: https://tinyurl.com/4ymm9wh5 » Subscribe to our YouTube Channel: https://bit.ly/3nCMpht » Like us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/theprintindia » Tweet us on Twitter: https://twitter.com/theprintindia » Follow us on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/theprintindia » Find us on LinkedIn : https://www.linkedin.com/company/theprint » Subscribe to ThePrint on Telegram: https://t.me/ThePrintIndia » Find us on Spotify: https://spoti.fi/2NMVlnB » Find us on Apple Podcasts: https://apple.co/3pEOta8
