David Hearst, editor-in-chief of Middle East Eye, says that watching NAZA, a documentary by Israeli directors Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor featuring interviews with members of an elite Israeli army unit involved in supplying targets for a genocide, should be “compulsory” for Britain’s liberal Zionists. Hearst criticises those who, he argues, continue to portray themselves as victims while dismissing pro-Palestinian demonstrations as “hate marches” and accusing critics of Israel and its leaders of antisemitism. He says the documentary revealed nothing that Middle East Eye had not already reported over the past three years but argues that British politicians Andy Burnham and Ed Miliband should watch it. “Miliband’s stand against Israel lasted all of ten days,” Hearst writes.
