CJP Protest Day 2: Delhi Police Detain Left Student Protesters At Connaught Place Amid High Security
Details
High drama unfolded in the national capital as security forces cracked down on left-wing student protesters attempting to march towards Jantar Mantar. Members affiliated with student groups including AISA, SFI, and AISF gathered near Connaught Place and Janpath for a flash protest. Heavily deployed personnel from the Delhi Police, Rapid Action Force, and paramilitary units had fortified the area, forming human chains and barricades to halt the demonstration. Around 60 to 70 demonstrators were taken into custody and loaded into waiting buses near Rajiv Chowk amidst heightened security measures and prohibitory restrictions under Section 163. Protesters raised slogans as police personnel physically removed and detained them, preventing them from proceeding along Janpath Road towards Jantar Mantar.
