Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved a 78-day Diwali bonus amounting to Rs 2,009 crore for eligible railway staff. The festive payout will benefit over 11.4 lakh non-gazetted railway personnel, including track maintainers, loco pilots, train managers, station masters, supervisors, technicians, and pointsmen. The maximum bonus amount payable per eligible employee is Rs 17,951.
