CJP Press Conference Full: CJP Accuses Modi Government Of Crackdown On Protesters | India Today
Details
CJP leaders Ashutosh Ranka, Saurav Das and Ratna Singh have levelled serious allegations against the Modi government and Delhi Police over the handling of protests demanding accountability from Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. During a press conference, the speakers alleged that activists were forcibly removed from an aircraft, detained without proper documentation, denied access to lawyers and had their phones seized without the required paperwork. They also raised allegations of custodial violence, harassment of volunteers and independent journalists, restrictions on peaceful protests, and police action involving people who had sought shelter at Bangla Sahib Gurudwara. The speakers questioned the Election Commission over voter deletion claims, alleged that large security deployments and transport restrictions disrupted life in Delhi, and called for peaceful protests across the country. These are claims and allegations made by CJP representatives and other speakers; they have not been independently verified by this press conference transcript. Watch the full address for their account of the events and the latest developments in the Gyanesh Kumar protest row.
