RAF Fairford cordon remains as police investigate suspected foiled attack
Details
A police cordon remains in place around RAF Fairford in the UK as authorities investigate a suspected foiled attack, leaving local residents unable to return home.
A villager who asked to remain anonymous said she spotted a number of masked men on Sunday and called emergency services, believing her actions may have scared them away and helped raise the alarm.
UK Defence Secretary Wes Streeting urged against speculation over possible links between the incident and Iran, while commending the villager for her actions and quick thinking.
Al Jazeera’s Camille Nedelec reports from RAF Fairford, UK.
