Perez Hilton's family confirmed the blogger is "receiving medical care" after appearing to engage in self-harm during an Aug. 4 TikTok livestream, leading to his hospitalization. “We are incredibly grateful for the overwhelming outpouring of love, support, and prayers,” the blogger's family said in an Aug. 5 statement posted to his website, adding that their focus remains on his well-being. The family—which includes Hilton’s three young children—also asked for privacy and said they will share updates if and when they are able. Police said they were able to make contact with the person, later confirmed to be Hilton, and that he was transported to a local hospital for medical attention.
