Energy demands for AI 'least of our concerns'; AI itself can help reduce emissions, says Al Gore

Description

The energy demands for AI are “the least of our concerns”, former US vice-president and environmental activist Al Gore told CNA on Monday (Sep 7). Mr Gore added that the extra emissions coming from AI data centres are “a cause for concern but not panic”, as they account for a fraction of emissions from uncovered landfills. He also said that AI can help humanity reduce emissions and that there are far more concerning developments in AI that humans should be worried about. #usa #usnews #algore
