Mickey Rourke’s manager is speaking out after the Academy Award nominee blasted a GoFundMe created in his name. On Monday, Jan. 5, Rourke took to Instagram to criticize the donation page that was designed to help prevent him from being evicted. The GoFundMe, which was created just days ago and raised over $100,000 as of publication, claimed that the “fundraiser is being created with Mickey’s full permission to help cover immediate housing-related expenses and prevent that from happening. It was previously reported that Rourke allegedly owes nearly $60,000 in past due rent. His manager of nine years, Kimberly Hines, clarified to the Hollywood Reporter early Tuesday that she and her assistant set up the page before admitting they were not expecting the attention that it received. “I don’t think he understood, and now it’s taken on this media frenzy, and he flipped out,” she said to the magazine. Despite Hines’ comments, Rourke claimed in his Instagram video Monday that he was “frustrated” by the GoFundMe as he appeared taken off guard by it. “Something's come up that I'm really, frustrated, confused, and I don't understand. Somebody set up some kind of, foundation or fund for me and to donate money, like, you know, like charity. And that's - that's not me. Okay? I'd rather - if I needed money, I wouldn't ask for no f----ing charity. I'd rather stick a gun up my ass and pull the trigger,” he began. The former boxer also shed some light on his financial struggles before urging his followers to stop donating and get their money back. “I don't need anybody's money, and I wouldn't - I wouldn't do it this way. I got too much pride, man,” he added. 0:00 - Mickey Rourke's GoFundMe Explained 0:45 - His Manager Speaks Out on the Controversial Page 1:05 - Mickey Expresses Frustration on Instagram 4:40 - Mickey's Pride & Message to His Fans » SUBSCRIBE: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCiKGMZZmZXK-RpbKJGXgH3Q?sub_confirmation=1 » Visit Our Website: http://accessonline.com Get More Access : Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/accesshollywood/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/accesshollywood Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/accesshollywood/#AccessHollywood "Access Hollywood" is an entertainment news show featuring Mario Lopez, Kit Hoover, Scott Evans, and co-host Zuri Hall.
