Céline Dion is getting candid. The legendary singer sat down with TODAY’s Hoda Kotb in an exclusive NBC primetime special, airing in full on June 11, in which she emotionally opened up about her stiff-person syndrome diagnosis and why she decided to share her condition. "I could not do this anymore," Céline told Hoda, adding, "Lying for me, the burden was too much. Lying to the people who got me where I am today, I could not do it anymore." In the preview for her first television interview since being diagnosed, the 56-year-old also discussed how she navigated her condition amid her late-husband, René Angélil’s, cancer battle. "I should have stopped – take the time to figure it out. Like, it’s not enough - my husband, as well, was fighting for his own life," she said. "I had to raise my kids, I had to hide. I had to try to be a hero." The “My Heart Will Go On” singer had previously revealed to Vogue that she began experiencing symptoms as early as 2008 while on her “Taking Chances” world tour. She publicly shared her diagnosis in 2022. The exclusive interview airs in full on NBC June 11 at 10/9c.
