Kim Kardashian is reacting to long-awaited closure in her Paris robbery ordeal. Nearly a decade after she was robbed at gunpoint in the French capital, eight of 10 defendants were found guilty of crimes connected to the multimillion-dollar jewelry theft. The mostly-suspended sentences ranged from three to eight years in prison. Due to time served, none of the defendants will be returning behind bars. The decision followed a weeks-long trial that had been delayed for years, and Kim expressed thanks to those who helped the legal saga finally reach a conclusion. "I am deeply grateful to the French authorities for pursuing justice in this case," the 44-year-old said in a statement obtained by NBC News after the verdict was announced on May 23. "The crime was the most terrifying experience of my life, leaving a lasting impact on me and my family. While I’ll never forget what happened, I believe in the power of growth and accountability and pray for healing for all. I remain committed to advocating for justice, and promoting a fair legal system." Kim's latest remarks come days after she took the stand during trial and faced the suspects for the first time since the terrifying incident. The group, dubbed the "grandpa robbers," were accused of orchestrating the heist that Kim said left her fearing for her life. In her chilling testimony, the Skims founder reportedly recalled being bound and gagged and pleading that she needed to make it home for her kids. The mom of four is also said to have noted how the experience changed her social media habits and how she approaches her personal security. Kim has also openly advocated for criminal justice reform in the time since, announcing shortly before the robbery verdict that she had completed her law school program after six years. » SUBSCRIBE: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCiKGMZZmZXK-RpbKJGXgH3Q?sub_confirmation=1 » Visit Our Website: http://accessonline.com Get More Access : Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/accesshollywood/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/accesshollywood Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/accesshollywood/ #AccessHollywood #kimkardashian "Access Hollywood" is an entertainment news show featuring Mario Lopez, Kit Hoover, Scott Evans, and correspondent Zuri Hall.
