Description

Job Seekers are being warned to beware of using the #opentowork on LinkedIn and signalling they're looking for work on other platforms. The hashtag could be signalling to scammers they're a vulnerable job seeker. Career coaches like Trevor Churchley from Talentology says he's seeing more reports of the unemployed falling victims to frauds. It includes scammers cloning the profiles of legitimate recruiters or asking for huge sums of money to help write resumes. Experts are also warning that resumes can contain valuable personal data and say people should refrain from including information like dates of birth in CVs. LinkedIn says it's working to remove scammers and creating other trust signals like verification.
